Juan Carlos Martín Hernández

University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Juan Carlos Martin is Professor of Applied Economics at the Institute of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He was vice-Dean of Economics (2002-2009) and vice-Dean of International Relations (2009-2013) at the Faculty of Economics, Business Administration and Tourism. Is the current vice president of the Network of Research Activities of Transport and Communications, European (NECTAR).
It has a long history of research in their area of specialization, economics of transport and tourism, accessibility, service quality, satisfaction and behavioral analysis. His research is widely cited in the academic world, and has also been frequently used by policymakers and decision-making. In their areas of specialization, has acted as consultant to several Public Administrations, such as the Directorates of the European Commission, the World Bank, the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain, the Ministry of Transport of Spain, the Training Networks Innovative Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSC-ITN-MULTI), and some other private institutions,
among others. Has addressed reports of competitive projects and works frequently as an expert for some National Research Centers. It is also an extraordinary professor in the Research Tourism on Economy, Environment and Society of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences of the North-West University and the University of Kore (Enna, Sicily, Italy). Member of the Committee of Experts of the Directorate-General for Regional Policy in the assessment, implementation and monitoring of the interventions of the cohesion policy. It has also been a visiting professor at several universities, including the
University of Sassari (Italy), Berkeley (EE. UU.), Agadir (Morocco), Potchefstroom (South Africa), Sydney (Australia), Antwerp (Belgium), Ibarra (Ecuador). and Loja (Ecuador).
Director of the doctoral program of Comprehensive Development and Innovation of Tourist Destinations from 01/09/2011 until 31/12/2014. He has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals, is the editor-in-chief european Transportation Journal, and is part of the editorial board of 8 academic journals that include some of the leading international journals in the tourism and economy of transportation. He has directed or co-written ten doctoral theses during the last 10 years. According to ResearcherID (Thomson Reuters), is the author of 115 publications with a total of 1638 quotes and 23 h-index (data updated 01
October 2021). According to Scopus, is the author of 99 publications with a total of 1619 dating and 25 h-index (data updated 01 October 2021). The article “Using fuzzy number for measuring quality of service in the hotel industry”, published in Tourism Management 28, was the most quoted article of the journal in the period 2007-2011. Currently has 223 citations according to Scopus (data updated on 01 march 2020).

 

Rui Cunha Marques

University of Lisbon

Graduate, Postgraduate and PhD. He is a professor in the Scientific Area of Systems and Infrastructure Management in the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Georrecursos of the Higher Institute Technical University of Lisbon (IST), Portugal. Is a researcher at the Research Center of Civil Engineering and Innovation for the Sustainability of the IST (CERIS / CESUR), the Research Center of Public Services (UDRP) of the University of Florida and
the Centre of Local Government (CLG) of the University of New England in Australia, where he is a visiting professor in the School of Business. His areas of expertise include the regulation of public services, performance evaluation, project management, procurement, in particular public-private partnerships and infrastructure services.
He is the author of over 500 scientific publications in several countries, including 13 books, and two theses and more than 215 articles in journals of reference. He is currently a consultant for the World Bank and in the past he has collaborated with other international organizations such as the European Investment Bank, the European Union, the United Nations and the Millennium Challenge Corporation, as well as with other governmental entities, and public and private companies in several countries. He has developed work in more than 50 countries on five continents.

José António C. Santos

ESGHT University of the Algarve (Portugal)

He is a researcher in the field of Tourism and Hospitality with a long experience of working in international environments and multicultural, in the creation of teams, teamwork and team leadership. He has represented the University of the Algarve in the following countries (teaching or attending meetings of
work) Azerbaijan, Georgia, Sweden, Spain, France, Finland, Bulgaria, Greece, China, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan. Since 1998 he teaches at the University of the Algarve (School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism); and was a founder (2005) and is editor of the journal Tourism & Management Studies (Indexed in: ESCI/Web of Science Core Collection; accepted for inclusion in SCOPUS in 2020); Between 2003 and 2009, he coordinated the organization of seminars and conferences at the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism; he Was the founding (2011) and president of the TMS ALGARVE CONFERENCES; He has directed and/or directs master dissertations and doctoral theses in the areas of Tourism, Heritage and Hospitality. Part of the Editorial Board and/or is a reviewer for the following journals: Tourism Management Perspectives, Current Issues in Tourism, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Tourism Review, Tourism Analysis, Asian Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Tourism and Services, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Tourism & Development, Economics and Management, Fronteiras Journal, etc He has been keynote speaker invited in academic conferences international in Spain, France, Portugal, and Vietnam; it Was the local coordinator of the Project LMPH Tempus (2013-2017), approved and funded by the EU for the creation of courses degree and master's degree in Management of Hospitality in Georgia, Moldova, and Azerbaijan, including the teaching in these countries; Was a member of the team (2017-2019) project LMPT ERASMUS+, funded by the EU, for the creation of courses degree and master's degree in Sustainable Tourism at 3 universities in China; He is currently a member of the team of two research projects funded by the EU.
